Thanks Giving Cooking

Planning and Organization
In preparation for making this pumpkin pie, I had to coordinate who was making what dish for the dinner with my family members, look up the recipe, buy/find the ingredients, gather the utensils, and plan for the amount of time it would take me to make the pie so that it would be in time for Thanks Giving dinner.  Below is a picture of the cookbook I used.

Initiating New Challenges & Developing New Skills
Before this activity, I had only never made a pumpkin pie or a pie crust before. This was a useful experience in that I learned how to do things and have since then made an apple pie for Christmas, and plan on making more pies in the future.

I also learned that although there are many steps to making a pie from scratch, it is fun and very much worth the work. The smiles on everyone's faces when they got to eat the pie were an added bonus.
